Lung Lung, Han's Mom

Lung Lung, Han's Mom

Born in Shanghai Han’s mother is his greatest mentor and inspiration.  When a doctor told her Han’s asthma afflicted lungs would never function in Taiwan’s dank clime she booked a ticket to the US to set up a new life in America. Staying with her younger sister June in Pennsylvania the first thing Lung Lung needed to learn was how to drive, so she bought a minivan. June taught her how to drive in empty suburban parking lots and the day Lung Lung got her license she drove from Philadelphia to Ohio to attend a trade show for flower shops. She then opened her own flower shop and moved a teenage Han to America a year later so he could breath out his nose. His mom was the only person that supported him when Han dreamed of opening Han Dynasty, and after investing every penny she had in her son she has worked day in and day out taking care of his restaurants.  A younger Lung Lung worked as an administrator at a government office in Taipei where they said she did the jobs of three people running around the office.  Now the business she founded with her son employs over three hundred. She busts ass everyday and spends every free moment she can on her farm in Hammonton NJ where she grows the finest chinese vegetables and keeps chickens.  Lung Lung’s husband and Han’s father Tao Pin is a masterful calligrapher whose art can be seen hanging in every Han Dynasty.
